Three men killed in hit-and-run outside Chicago gay bar, suspect at large

A suspect remains at large after three men are killed in a hit-and-run attack outside a gay bar in Chicago, police said.

A fourth victim was beaten and injured in the “atrocity” outside Jeffery Pub, which happened at about 5 a.m. Sunday, Chicago police said.

The attack “appears to be deliberate” but is not being investigated as a hate crime, Chicago police said at a news conference Monday.

The incident started as an argument in the bar, which then escalated into the street, police said. A “quarrel” ensued, after which the suspect got into the car and drove into the pedestrians, police said.

The car involved was found four blocks from the crime scene, police said, but no one has been taken into custody.

Police are enlisting the public’s help and asking anyone with information about the driver to come forward.
