SELMA, Ala. (WSFA) – Selma police are asking for the public’s help in the shooting death of a five-year-old child.
According to CrimeStoppers, the shooting happened around 12:24 a.m. Saturday at the Valley Creek Apartment complex in the area of Dallas Avenue. When officers arrived, they found the child suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
The child was taken to a local hospital, but succumbed to his injuries and died, police said.
Investigators are looking for answers about this heartbreaking fatal shooting and are asking anyone with information to come forward and help solve this ongoing homicide investigation. CrimeStoppers is also offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
