A suspect in Montgomery's murder was arrested

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Montgomery police officials announced an arrest in a homicide Friday afternoon as the suspect was booked into the county jail.

Ledivius Howard, 33, of Montgomery, is charged with murder The shooting of Darius Mitchell. Mitchell, 43, was killed March 16 in the 5900 block of Wellborn Place.

Montgomery Police Department Homicide Squad Commander Capt. Alex Payne said Howard was quickly identified as a suspect and an arrest warrant was secured.

Howard is being held without bond in the Montgomery County Jail.

Payne and Police Chief Daryl Albert could not comment further on the case because of the ongoing investigation.
