Oakdale, Minn. — A chase ended Wednesday on Interstate 694 in Oakdale, but that didn’t stop the driver from eluding police.
A state trooper attempted to stop a driver who was allegedly traveling 86 miles per hour in a 70 mile per hour zone.
The Minnesota State Patrol says a trooper activated emergency lights and sirens when the driver failed to stop.
The driver crashed into a fender and another vehicle before fleeing on foot.
With the help of local law enforcement, police located the driver a short time later.
WCCO’s spectator drone was just flying over a nearby field as troopers tracked it down.
The driver was booked on suspicion of eluding police, hit and run, felony traffic operation and driving without a license.
According to the police, the innocent people who were hit by the driver were seriously injured, but their lives are not in danger.
The incident remains under investigation.
